DIY Easy, All-Natural Lip Scrub

It can be quite distracting having dry, chapped lips. When applying lip balm constantly for hours doesn’t help, a lip scrub will save the day. This easy all-natural lip scrub recipe is a great way to sluff away the dead skin on your lips while also nourishing and hydrating!

This recipe only calls for three ingredients. First up is sugar! Organic cane sugar works best because of the size and abrasivity, but you can use whatever sugar you have in your house. When combined with the other ingredients, the texture of the sugar helps to remove dead skin cells. The second ingredient, coconut oil, will hydrate the lips while antioxidants help skin cell regeneration. Plus, it is antibacterial and antifungal. Finally, raw honey is quite moisturizing and healing for the skin. It can even help prevent against infections!

Here’s what you’ll need:

8 tsp of sugar

2 tsp of coconut oil

1 tbsp of raw honey

Because I ran out of the cane sugar I usually use, I opted for sugar cubes. I would not recommend using sugar cubes if you have another choice though because you need to crush them up before use!

All you need to do to create this amazing lip scrub is combine all of the ingredients above in a small bowl or cup. Next, transfer to a small jar or tupperware container. You may find you like to have a slightly different ratio of ingredients than me. Feel free to play around with the amount of each ingredient to find your favourite!

Have fun decorating and labelling the jar and get creative with it! I used a small jar I had around the house and added a simple label using clear tape and paper.

Store the scrub in your fridge for up to a month for optimal freshness. I would recommend using this 2-3 times a week, or as needed.
